1. Do I need to provide accommodation?

This is only required for long distance journeys of 2.5hrs or more from

Bradford where I am based. In most instances, the accommodation

costs are included in the fee and agreed at the time of booking.

2. Do the band provide music in between sets?

I provide a 'virtual DJ' (laptop Disco service) which is included in the

price. If the client prefers to use a playlist of their own which would still

run through my sound equipment then I am happy to accommodate.

3. What does it mean when the contract states that I am to be provided with food and drink?

As a musician I work long hours and drive long distances to travel to gigs, often not getting home until the early hours, long after the party has ended and the guests have all gone to bed! In light of this, it would be appreciated if I were provided with a suitable meal either after an afternoon performance or before an evening performance. This will typically be for me to receive the same main meal that the guests are receiving. Soft drinks, teas and coffees are also appreciated. Please make sure either the venue staff or a suitable person (e.g. wedding planner/caterer) are aware of this.

4. Do you require a changing room?

Most venues I play in tend to have a conference room or spare area that is perfect for me to safely store personal belongings and to get changed in. Anything like this is great! Please ensure that the room is heated, has access to electrical sockets and mirrors also. Please bear in mind that toilets, sheds, tents or outdoor places aren't suitable changing areas. I realise that it isn't always possible to accommodate these requests so please liaise with me in advance of the event date.

5. How negotiable is the size of the stage / performance area?

A min of 3m x 3m stage space is stated, but in reality I can be flexible on this. Please bear in mind though, the more space I have the better and more comfortable the performance.

6. Do you provide staging?

I do not provide staging. This is the responsibility of the venue, but in all honesty it isn't always needed unless the client specifically wants it. I am fine setting up on the floor.

7. What are your performance times and how long do you play for?

My standard set length is 2 x 45 minutes. The set times are to be agreed at the time of booking. I understand however that events don't always run exactly to schedule and can be flexible if set times are moved around a little. If you require extra music beyond the agreed times this can be arranged for an additional fee.

8. How long do you need to setup?

I require a minimum of 60 minutes to ensure that all equipment is unloaded, set up and sound checked, to make sure everything is perfect and ready to go.

9. Can we choose the set list?

I am experienced in reading the room and getting a feel for an audiences musical tastes, meaning song choice and set list order can change on the day in order to make your event personal to you and your guests. For this reason, I don't send out a finalised set list but you can rest assured that your enjoyment is my main priority. A specimen set list can be presented if required so you can see the variation of genres I will be performing. If you require a specific song for your first dance or ceremony then I will need 4 weeks notice prior to the event in order to learn the songs and perfect my performance

10. What if I need to cancel my booking?

A 20% deposit is payable at the time of booking and a contract is signed giving full details of cancellations and payments. If you cancel then I will retain the deposit. In the unlikely event I need to cancel i will refund this and seek to find a replacement where possible.  If you cancel within 28 days of the event then full payment is due, this is because I am unlikely to find work at short notice to cover this.
